Carvoeiro is a bright, lively sea-side resort during the summer season
with a rich selection of , restaurants and night-spots catering to a
variety of tastes.There is plenty of live music on offer during the season.
The beach is located in the centre of the town that more or less spreads
itself in a semicircle around it.Though it can become a little crowded at
the height of summer,there are a number of beautiful secluded coves
and beaches in the immediate vicinity,some of which are only accessible
by boat.Boat trips along the coast are scheduled several times a day
during the summer months.Recommended is the short boat trip eastwards
along the Estrada do Farol to the Praia de Centianes,another spectacular
beach and well worth the visit.In the winter, Carvoeiro retains its pleasant,
welcoming atmosphere and reverts to the ambiance of the quiet
fishing village it once was until, perhaps only about 30 years ago.
